Fripps Cottage – Access Statement 

Introduction


Fripps Cottage is a bungalow built in approximately 1970. The property is ideally suited for visitors with restricted mobility and young children, with easy access to the gardens and all living areas and bedrooms.


Pre-Arrival
• We have a website at www.frippscottage.co.uk.
• Bookings can be made by telephone or e-mail.
• The nearest bus stop (The Square, Wimborne Minster) is located approximately 2 miles from Fripps Cottage and there is a taxi rank at the bus stop.
• The nearest train station (Poole) is located approximately 6 miles from Fripps Cottage and there is a taxi rank at the station.
• We can arrange for information in large print if required.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
• There is off street parking for two vehicles at Fripps Cottage within a single driveway to the side of the property.
• There is a level walk of approximately 3 metres from the driveway to the front door. The driveway and footpaths are 20mm shingle of depth 40mm laid on a concrete base.

Main Entrance
• There is a step of height 30mm to the front door, and then a stop of 40mm across the threshold.
• The front door is hinged on the right. The height of the lock is 1.4m and the width of the open door is 80cm.
• The main entrance leads in to a hallway with doors leading to bedrooms (2), lounge/dining room, kitchen and bathroom.

Internal Features
• All internal doors are of width 70cn.
• All areas are laid to short pile wool carpet with the exception of the kitchen and bathroom which are laid with a vinyl floor covering.

Lounge/Dining Room
• Lighting is a mixture of ceiling lights and a Mother/Daughter floor lamp.
• There is good colour contrast between the walls and the furniture.
• Rectangular pine dining table (length 150 cm, width 100cm, height 90 cm) with fixed l-shaped bench seating to one side and one end of the table and movable dining chairs (without arms) to the other side and end of the table.
• Three seat armed sofa (seat height 50cm), two armed seat sofa (seat height 50cm) and foot stool – fabric covering/moveable/feather free.
• Log burning stove.
• TV, DVD, VCR, Radio/CD player all with remote controls.
• There is a free space 3 metres x 2 metres clear of doors and furniture.

• Fitted continuous worktop (height 90cm, length 180cm) with dishwasher, freezer and fridge under worktop
• Fitted continuous worktop (height 90cm, length 200cm) with fitted sink/drainer. Cupboards under worktop and washing machine/tumble dryer

• Electric hob/grill/oven (hob height 90cm). Oven is drop down door with height of lowest shelf 30cm)

• There is a small patio with wooden table, two wooden benches (with arms) and two wooden seats with arms.
• Locked garden shed containing a bar-be-que and storage space for bicycles.
• The garden overlooks fields which can be used by visitors.

Additional Information
• Fripps Cottage is a no smoking property
• We allow well behaved dogs who are not left unattended.
